兩岸政策協會18日公布「洪秀柱、蔡英文首次民調大PK」民意調查結果顯示，民進黨總統候選人蔡英文支持度達50.2%，較通過國民黨總統初選的立法院副院長洪秀柱的29.3%，大勝20.9%。對此，行政院前發言人、台師大大傳所教授胡幼偉在臉書提出質疑說，在眾多民調機構調查兩人支持度均趨近或平手時，此民調「執行過程符合科學民調的所有要求嗎？」
該民調是兩岸政策協會委託決策民調中心執行，於6月15日至16日晚上進行，成功訪問1080位成年人，在95%信心水準下，抽樣誤差於正負2.98%以內。
據調查顯示，在6項能力指標中，「領導能力」蔡45.5%，洪31.5%；「維護台灣利益能力」蔡44.7%，洪31.6%；「信賴度」蔡47.3%，洪32.6%；「政策可行性」蔡39.3%，洪34.3%；「瞭解民意程度」蔡48.6%，洪28.9%；「國際觀」蔡58.9%，洪18.6%。
而在兩岸政策主張上，認同蔡英文「兩岸政策就是維持現狀」主張的民眾占63.1%，不認同者占22.4%；認同洪秀柱「一中同表」主張的民眾占31.2%，不認同者占51.7%。
就此次調查結果，政大國發所特聘教授、兩岸政策協會理事長童振源提出4點分析，第一，蔡英文全面領先洪秀柱；第二，泛綠凝聚力高，支持蔡的比例有8至9成，泛藍支持洪的比例僅7成，中立選民支持蔡與洪的比例為10：4；第三，藍綠在兩岸政策的優勢易位；第四，民眾可能擔心洪秀柱會「Hold不住」。
